Breast Cancer Prevention
We are changing the national conversation around breast cancer from awareness to prevention. To do this we provide free education on the factors that can lead to a breast cancer diagnosis, including nutrition, stress, environment, and relationship dynamics, focusing on expanding awareness and, more importantly, prevention.
Provide dedicated resources that meet the needs of those affected by breast cancer
A breast cancer diagnosis is very expensive, even with quality health insurance. For the underinsured or uninsured, a diagnosis can devastate the family. Mounting medical bills means many families are unable to afford important necessities, such as clothing, shoes, household items, personal care products, or baby and children’s items.
The Becky Baker Foundation has partnered with The United Breast Cancer Foundation to help meet the needs of these families by creating the Becky Baker Foundation Survivors Resource Center where these families are able to select from hundreds of free items their families need, relieving some of the burden, fears, and financial constraints facing those battling breast cancer.

Rick Baker, a former top-rated radio talk show host and best-selling author of three books, retired from the entertainment and media industries in 2013 after his wife, Becky, was diagnosed with breast cancer. He dedicated his time to supporting her in any way she desired.
Tragically, Becky succumbed to breast cancer in 2017. In her memory, Rick established The Becky Baker Foundation.
Over the past nine years, the Foundation has provided over 3,000 complimentary breast cancer screenings to women across the United States. Additionally, his Survivors Resource Center in Colorado has distributed over five million dollars in merchandise to families affected by breast cancer.
Rick Baker is a distinguished member of the AAE Speakers Bureau, and his Foundation has consistently achieved Platinum Status annually.

After 40 years as a Locomotive Engineer for BNSF Railroad, Richard retired and settled in the small Colorado mountain town of Rye with his wife of 38 years, Henrietta, and their son, Gabe.
Today, he spends his days involved in his local community, including supporting initiatives like the Becky Baker Foundation. Richard is also dedicated to cheering on his son in all his sports endeavors. His fishing pole and golf clubs are never far away, and he often shares tips on finding resources in Southern Colorado.

Mark Kerbel, a native of Montana, graduated from Devry University and then embarked on a four-decade career with Intel, AMD, Rockwell, and other microchip companies before retiring in 2020. Known for his unwavering integrity, Mark Kerbel is also a fervent advocate for service.
Since the inception of the Becky Baker Foundation, he has dedicated numerous hours to volunteering at our Survivors Resource Center, helping provide resources in Southern Colorado to those in need.

Three-time World Long Drive Champion and professional golfer, Jeff (Critter) Crittenden, is not only one of the top teaching professionals in the country but also actively supports the Becky Baker Foundation and its initiatives.
Having taught for companies like ESPN Golf Schools, Jeff dedicates many weeks each year to charity events where he showcases his incredible power and trick golf shots, often benefiting Becky’s Foundation. Additionally, he frequently participates in events in Pueblo, CO, where attendees can enjoy while learning from his expertise.

Where do I even start?
OMG how to even start. When I was first diagnosed I had to quit working because the treatment made me so sick, we had to cut back on everything, we were used to living comfortably and not having to worry about things we needed. I felt so terrible after losing my hair, but because of this wonderful foundation, I was able to find scarves and warm sweaters which I wasn’t accustomed to needing. When Christmas was coming close, I had absolutely nothing to offer my grandkids, but The Becky Baker foundation helped with that too. I will forever be grateful to Rich and Henrietta and their team of volunteers. God Bless each and everyone of them.

My Mom and three aunts all had BC, a nightmare turned reality for me in 2020. I earned from two work capacities however, with the affliction, I lost substantial income. Worse, I also lost my self-confidence from a body morphed by mastectomy. The Becky Baker Foundation Survivors Resource Center embraced me as if saying, “I gotcha!” I realized I am on this journey with people who care enough to make me look and feel beautiful again with such pretty (and free!!!) clothes and make up! I also took home functional items I have long needed in my household. Money I saved from all these helps offset co-pays and treatment expenses.

You made my family’s Christmas
At Christmas I had no idea how I would get my grandbabies gifts. You guys helped me so much. All 6 of them were so happy with what I was able to get for them. Going thru chemo is so hard on me and my family. It means so much to have this resource to tap into to make life that much easier. I can’t ever thank you enough. See you next month.
Would not make it without you
The Becky Baker Foundation at the Pueblo Mall has been really beneficial for my family for several reasons. One reason is it helped give me a dress that I could wear to Night to Shine. Another reason is that it helped bring Christmas to my family that otherwise would never of had a Christmas to begin with. Another reason is that it has given me encouragement when things have looked dim like the several deaths I have gone through like cancer, old age, and an unexpected death. I have met many friends who help during the stressful times. Without the Becky Baker Foundation I don’t know if I would have been able to get through these rough moments.
Your staff are all angels
In October 2017, my son passed away from cancer. Three days later I had a double mastectomy. After watching him go through chemo I refused that. Refused radiation and drugs. Went for Chinese medicine. Now almost eight years later I am still here. Dating a doctor so very healthy.
I Found out about Becky Baker foundation on Facebook just recently. What a wonderful organization to serve the cancer community with free items. The people there are so friendly and helpful, really make you feel welcome. When I went this month for the first time, they told me I didn’t pick out enough and keep shopping. Then I couldn’t carry it all away so someone put it in a shopping cart and took it to my car. So nice such a pleasant shopping trip. Hopefully in the future I will be able to volunteer and help out. I heard of the Becky Baker Foundation in November 2024. I was able to get toys for my grandchildren. Amazing items I would never be able to purchase. I have been able to meet other families affected by breast cancer. All of these things are phenomenal! The most amazing thing I have gained from the Foundation is the loving people: Rick, Henrietta, Richard, Sue, Lucy, Terry, Dawn, Gabrielle, and Shiloh. I learned appreciation for a group of dedicated, kindhearted people who have made sacrifices for this store to be in Pueblo. I learned about the generosity of the Pueblo Mall, which donates the space! My biggest lesson from the BBF is to appreciate the importance of gratitude, regardless of the circumstances we face, and I’m learning to find joy in even the most challenging situations.
Your service is beyond measure
The Becky Baker Foundation is literally Heaven sent straight from Becky herself. While visiting my sister in Pueblo who has been battling cancer for the last 9 months I found this amazing foundation through a Google search. There are very limited resources in Pueblo for those going through cancer treatment. I texted Rick and he responded instantly that she could come shopping the very next day. The financial strain of not being able to work for months had become overwhelming and with 3 young kids at home they were barely getting by. The store was stocked with so many wonderful things but the best thing it gave my sister was a sense of dignity. Giving her the opportunity to shop in private for things she really needed was so emotional. She probably would have only gotten things for her kids but the volunteers gently reminded her that she is important too. They gave her personal care and hygiene products she would have never purchased for herself. We as family have been helping as much as we can but financially it’s been tough. The work this foundation is doing is beyond measure and Pueblo is so incredibly luckily that it started right here. I hope and pray that Rick can meet his goal of expanding this wonderful organization to other communities.
Thank you for loving my family
I was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer in April 2024. My world was turned upside down. I thought my life was over since this is the second cancer diagnosis I have had in my life. I have been cancer free from the thyroid cancer and knew that there would be a chance in my life to have another run in with this disease.
I was working full time and had a wonderful life with my husband and our daughter and grandkids. I did not know what the outcome of this diagnosis would be for me. At this time I had to end my full time employment due to the fact that the cancer had gone to my bones and was very painful and I was having mobility issues.
Since the Becky Baker Foundation started this store it has assisted our family in so many ways. Not only have they assisted with things that we could not have afforded but needed. They also have become a great connection to help me when I was feeling low and lonely on this journey.
I have and will continue to be there for others in need and hope that I can keep this family of survivors and warriors with me as well. Rick’s daily devotions have brought me closer to my lord and savior. The items have helped me maintain and not worry about some of the costs that come alone with this disease. Thank you to Rick and all the volunteers that make you feel welcome, wanted, and supporting families that are dealing with this. Rick, thank you for sharing Becky’s story to help those of us facing the same struggles. You’re all so phenomenal. Thank you for all that your foundation does for our communities. We were there shopping yesterday, myself my daughters and grandkids. Thank you so much for doing what you are doing to support the community that have been affected by breast cancer . Also the smiles of my grandkids that came out of that store because you took that time out of your day to meet with each one individually and give them all something special just for them. Made their whole day! They talked about it all the way home and told their grampa n uncles how happy they were with all the toys you had given them. Thank you and all the ladies for all your hard work and dedication. You are all so very appreciated!
You make my Granny smile
My family and I have suffered a lot with breast cancer. Our granny found out she had breast cancer and never really told anyone till it got way too bad. She lost both breasts to cancer, and thank God she survived the life changing event. She never said anything because she had so many kids to raise and just life going on. Back story on granny, she raised 2 girls alone then raised 5 grandkids that nobody wanted, this included me. She also had a daycare every day that consisted of 12 kids so she always had a full house. She never complained she just did it and she is my hero because of it.
She lost her breasts and came home from the hospital and never complained. She told me she wasn’t a woman any longer and I told her yes she is she’s beautiful and my hero. She now helps me raise my babies and what an amazing granny they have.
Sometimes we don’t know how we will get gifts for the kids but the Becky Baker Foundation has been a life changer. My granny is so happy after she shops because she is able go give me and my babies a gift and it means so much to her. She doesn’t have much and can’t work. She loves the time she gets to spend in the store looking at everything and trying to decide what to get my babies. She finally got a few things for herself. Her favorite thing is a mattress pad that has foam in it, and she loves it.
My granny tries to give us the moon the stars and the rainbows, but I know it hurts her that she can’t. She still never complains she gets up every day and cooks and cleans. She’s my hero, she’s the wind beneath my wings. She’s everything I wish I could be and more. She has always let all us kids shine while she stands in our shadows. I will do anything for her. My mom didn’t want me and she did. Thanks so much to you all for what you have done for my family. Especially the smile that you continue to put on her face that I love to see. Your team touches people in ways that will live on forever. You’re all so kind to her when she comes in. Thanks so much.
